Seoul: Jin Ok-dong, the current chairman of South Korean banking conglomerate Shinhan Financial Group Co., was approved by shareholders Thursday to lead the banking group for another three years.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Jin was tapped as the final candidate for the group's next chairmanship in December. His leadership was first established in March 2023, when he was appointed as the Shinhan Financial chairman.
Jin is recognized for his management skills and ability to handle uncertainties facing the banking group. Shinhan Financial Group is among the leading financial holding companies, providing services in commercial banking, card issuance, and insurance.
