Seoul: The latest figures from KOSPI 200 reflect a mixed day for South Korean stocks, with Hyundai Rotem and Hanwha Ocean standing out as notable gainers in a session marked by widespread declines.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Hyundai Rotem recorded a significant rise in its closing price, up 5,700 to reach 188,700. Similarly, Hanwha Ocean experienced a substantial surge, climbing 13,700 to end at 123,400. These increases contrasted with the overall trend of the day, where many companies saw their stock prices fall.
Among the companies experiencing declines, ShinhanGroup saw its stock decrease by 2,100 to close at 76,500, and SANIL ELECTRIC fell by 2,800 to settle at 133,400. HD Hyundai Infracore also faced a minor drop of 380, closing at 13,880. Other notable decliners included LG H and H, which fell by 500 to 263,000, and KEPCO E and C, down 900 to 91,800.
On the other hand, KIWOOM and Hanwha both saw upward movements. KIWOOM increased its stock price by 5,000 to reach 301,500, while Hanwha went up by 2,300 to close at 84,300. FOOSUNG also experienced a slight increase, rising by 20 to 7,830.
The session recorded a mix of stability and declines for other companies. HANMISemi remained unchanged at 127,000. However, Samsung Biologics saw a decline of 4,000, closing at 1,720,000. The financial sector was hit, with KBFinancialGroup decreasing by 500 to 126,000 and HanjinKAL rising by 3,900 to 122,100.
The session underscored a volatile trading day for various sectors, with gains and declines reflecting investor sentiment and market conditions.
