Seoul: Hyundai Motor Co. announced on Wednesday that its global sales experienced a decline in June compared to the previous year, primarily due to weaker demand in both domestic and international markets.
According to Yonhap News Agency, South Korea's largest automaker reported that it sold 338,313 vehicles worldwide in June, marking a 5.9 percent decrease from the same month last year. The decline was evident in both overseas and domestic markets, with overseas sales dropping by 5.8 percent to 280,081 units and domestic sales falling by 6.2 percent to 58,232 units.
In the first half of the year, Hyundai Motor's global vehicle sales reached 1.96 million, reflecting a 4.9 percent decrease from the previous year. Despite the current downturn, the company anticipates a gradual recovery in sales. This optimism is bolstered by the recent launch of the facelifted Grandeur flagship sedan and the upcoming release of the redesigned Avante compact sedan in the latter half of the year.
