Seoul: Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea's leading automaker, announced the launch of new Pokemon-themed display packages in collaboration with Pokemon Korea Inc. The initiative aims to broaden in-vehicle customization options for consumers.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the newly introduced themes, "Pokemon Pikachu Quick Attack" and "Pokemon Ditto World Theme," are integrated into Hyundai's connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) infotainment cluster display. This system, developed by Hyundai Motor Group, offers customized display colors and graphics featuring popular Pokemon characters. It also enhances navigation guidance visuals and includes unique startup and shutdown animations.
A Hyundai Motor official emphasized that the partnership is in response to a rising consumer demand for personalized mobility experiences that allow drivers to showcase their individual styles. The new themes are currently available on several models, including the all-new Palisade sport utility vehicle (SUV), the all-new Nexo hydrogen fuel-cell electric vehicle (EV), and the Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 9 EVs.
Furthermore, Hyundai revealed plans to broaden the availability of these themes to additional models through over-the-air (OTA) software updates in the future. Pokemon, a well-known global franchise originating from Japan, spans across various media platforms, including video games and animation, making it a fitting partner for this innovative venture.
