Tokyo:Hwang Sun-woo secured a silver medal in the men's 200-meter freestyle swimming race on Wednesday, marking his second consecutive medal in this event.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Hwang recorded a time of 1:44.62, finishing second in his Asiad title defense at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre. Zhang Zhanshuo of China captured the gold medal with a time of 1:43.49, surpassing Hwang's previous Asian record of 1:43.92 set 11 months ago.

Tatsuya Murasa of Japan took the bronze with a time of 1:44.81. This achievement brings Hwang's total to four medals at this year's Asiad, having previously won bronze in the 100m freestyle, men's 4x100m medley relay, and men's 4x200m freestyle relay.
