Seoul: HD Korea Shipbuilding and Offshore Engineering Co. (HD KSOE), a subholding company of HD Hyundai Co., announced its successful acquisition of a substantial order valued at 689.6 billion won (US$466.2 million) to construct four container ships for a shipping company based in Oceania.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the construction of these vessels will take place at the shipyard of HD Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co. The delivery of the ships is scheduled to occur sequentially, with all vessels expected to be completed by the second half of 2028. This order contributes significantly to HD KSOE's business achievements this year.
HD KSOE has secured contracts totaling $17.33 billion for 122 vessels in the current year, achieving 96 percent of its annual order goal. This latest contract underscores the company's robust performance and strategic growth in the global shipbuilding industry.
