Haribo Opens First Standalone Asian Store in South Korea

Yeoju: German confectionery company Haribo has inaugurated its first dedicated offline store in South Korea, marking the brand's initial standalone outlet in Asia. This strategic move aims to cater to the increasing demand in the region's fourth-largest economy.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Haribo, renowned for its fruit gummy products, has been present in the South Korean market for over ten years. Earlier in 2023, the company established Haribo Korea Ltd. to strengthen its foothold in the local jelly gum sector.

South Korea has emerged as Haribo's largest market in Asia in recent years, as stated by a company spokesperson, though specific sales figures remain undisclosed. The company has plans to expand the number of offline stores nationwide in the future.

The newly opened flagship store, the first of its kind in Asia, is situated at Shinsegae Simon Premium Outlets in Yeoju, approximately 65 kilometers southeast of Seoul.
