Seoul: Hankook Tire and Technology Co., South Korea's leading tiremaker, on Friday reported its third-quarter net profit of 389.6 billion won (US$267.5 million), marking an increase of 1 percent from the previous year.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the company's operating income for the July-September period reached 586 billion won, representing a rise of 24.6 percent year-over-year. Additionally, sales surged by 122.3 percent to 5.41 trillion won during the same period.

The operating profit exceeded the average estimate by 36.8 percent, based on a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency. However, the net profit estimate was not available.
