Seoul: GM Korea Co., the South Korean unit of General Motors Co., reported a 7.6 percent decrease in sales for February compared to the same month last year, attributing the decline to weak demand for its key models. The company announced it sold 36,630 vehicles last month, a drop from 39,655 units sold during the same period in the previous year.

According to Yonhap News Agency, domestic sales experienced a significant decline, plunging 37.4 percent year-on-year to 927 units, down from 1,482 units. Exports also fell, declining 6.5 percent to 35,703 units from 38,173 units over the cited period. The decline in sales was influenced by reduced demand for GM Korea's flagship models, including the Chevrolet Trailblazer and Trax Crossover sport utility vehicles.

The automaker's current lineup features two locally assembled models, the Trailblazer and the Trax Crossover, alongside two imported models, the Colorado pickup and the GMC Sierra Denali.
