Seongnam:Police announced plans to seek detention warrants for four Chinese men accused of vandalizing a restaurant named after Chinese President Xi Jinping in Seongnam, located just south of Seoul.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the suspects, aged between their 20s and 40s, allegedly broke into the restaurant early Thursday, spraying lacquer and paint on both its exterior and interior, and contaminated food ingredients with what is believed to be pesticide.

An official from the Korean National Police Agency stated that the authorities intended to file for the detention warrants on Monday. The suspects reportedly fled to China on the day of the incident after briefly returning to their lodgings in Seoul and departing via Incheon International Airport.

Police have identified the suspects and plan to request Interpol Red Notices once the warrants are issued. However, it remains uncertain to what extent China will cooperate in extraditing the individuals.
