Taean: A fishing boat carrying seven crew members overturned in waters near the western coastal county of Taean, prompting a search for four who went missing. The 9.77-ton vessel capsized at around 6:20 p.m. in waters near the Cheollipo area of Taean in South Chungcheong Province, about 140 kilometers southwest of Seoul.

According to Yonhap News Agency, three of the seven crew members aboard the vessel have been rescued, but the other four remain unaccounted for. The Taean Coast Guard dispatched seven patrol and rescue boats to the area to conduct search operations.

"We are searching for the four missing crew members," a Taean Coast Guard official stated, adding that efforts are ongoing to determine whether there have been any casualties. Prime Minister Kim Min-seok, after being briefed on the incident, directed officials to mobilize all available resources in the search for the missing crew members, as reported by his office.
