Finance Minister Urges Strict Adherence to Government Policy by Institutions

Seoul: Finance Minister Koo Yun-cheol met with the heads of key finance ministry-affiliated institutions on Wednesday to emphasize the thorough implementation of government policy priorities, Koo's office said.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the meeting brought together the heads of the Korea Investment Corp., Korea Asset Management Corp., Korea Minting, Security Printing and ID Card Operating Corp. and the Korea Fiscal Information Service. This gathering, organized by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, aimed to address pressing economic challenges and underline the necessity for these institutions to align closely with government strategies.

"In light of the challenging domestic and global economic conditions, we need to enhance our growth potential through major transformations, such as the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI)," Koo stated during the meeting. The Lee Jae Myung administration has previously unveiled a five-year economic development blueprint that positions AI as a core growth engine, aiming to foster what it calls a "super-innovation economy" driven by cutting-edge technologies and structural reforms.

The minister also highlighted the importance of public outreach, noting that these institutions play a critical role in the implementation of policies. Koo further emphasized the need for maintaining close coordination with relevant agencies to ensure the steady advancement of the super-innovation economy initiative.
