Finance Minister Emphasizes Policy Implementation in Meeting with Agency Chiefs

Seoul: Finance Minister Koo Yun-cheol met with the heads of key finance ministry-affiliated agencies on Friday, highlighting the necessity of thoroughly implementing the government's primary policy priorities, as stated by Koo's office.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the meeting convened the leaders of the National Tax Service, the Korea Customs Service, and the Public Procurement Service. Koo urged these agencies to contribute to enhancing the productivity of public services and to promote innovation in the private sector. He emphasized the need for these agencies to actively adopt and utilize artificial intelligence (AI).

The Lee Jae Myung administration recently introduced a five-year economic development plan that identifies AI as a central growth engine. This blueprint aims to encourage a "super-innovation economy" powered by advanced technologies and structural reforms.

During the meeting, Koo also addressed the recent fire at a data center. He called for swift restoration efforts and a thorough review of disaster response protocols to prevent similar incidents in the future.
