Seoul: Cho Tae-yong, a former chief of the National Intelligence Service (NIS), appeared in court on Tuesday for a hearing that will determine if a warrant will be issued for his arrest on several charges, including his alleged role in the imposition of martial law by former President Yoon Suk Yeol.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the Seoul Central District Court convened the hearing following the request by special counsel Cho Eun-suk's team, who sought the warrant last week. The charges against Cho include violations of NIS law, dereliction of duty, perjury, destruction of evidence, creation of false official documents, and providing false testimony to parliament, all linked to the martial law declaration on December 3.
