Seoul: Former President Yoon Suk Yeol attended his insurrection trial on Monday, marking the first occasion he used the court's open entrance, allowing the public to witness his arrival. Previously, Yoon had been permitted to use the underground parking for his court appearances.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the decision for Yoon to enter through the open entrance came after court authorities denied the Presidential Security Service's request to continue using the underground route for the third hearing. Arriving at the Seoul Central District Court in a black van, Yoon remained expressionless and refrained from responding to reporters' questions as he entered the building.

Yoon is currently facing charges of leading an insurrection linked to his unsuccessful attempt to impose martial law in December. In addition to these charges, he was indicted earlier this month on allegations of abuse of power.
