Dunamu Aims to Connect South Korea with Global On-Chain Systems

Seoul:The CEO of Dunamu, South Korea's largest virtual asset exchange, expressed the company's ambition to integrate the country's financial system with global on-chain infrastructure. This initiative is part of Dunamu's broader strategy for international expansion, which includes a comprehensive equity exchange with portal operator Naver Corp.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Oh Kyoung-suk, the chief executive officer of Dunamu Inc., spoke at the Korea Blockchain Week 2026, an international industry event held in Seoul. He emphasized the company's goal to connect South Korea with global markets, describing it as their "next task."

Oh detailed plans to create a common infrastructure that enables various financial entities to participate. He highlighted that by achieving accessibility, connectivity, and export potential in the digital asset arena, South Korea could emerge as a significant financial hub.

To realize this vision, Oh mentioned that Dunamu will begin by bridging the Web 3 financial infrastructure with the Web 2 consumer payment platform. This likely involves collaboration with Naver Financial Corp., which operates Naver Pay.

Last year, Dunamu and Naver Financial agreed on a comprehensive stock exchange merger, which is currently pending regulatory approval. Oh further noted that South Korea could seize an opportunity in the digital finance era akin to major financial centers like New York, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
