Pyongyang: The U.S. arms buildup on the Korean Peninsula and in the neighboring region has been described as an unwise option that could increase the uncertainty of security on the U.S. mainland. This warning was issued by an unnamed military commentator. According to Nam News Network, the commentator highlighted a recent interceptor drill at the Fort Greely military base in Alaska, which simulated an intercontinental ballistic missile attack by an enemy state. This drill was characterized as a military action with offensive implications, suggesting that it rendered the possibility of a nuclear war with the DPRK a fait accompli. The commentator further stated that if the United States does not seek a nuclear conflict with the DPRK, then the DPRK's strategic nuclear force targeting the U.S. mainland would not be necessary, and discussions about interception would be irrelevant.
