Pyongyang: The Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea (DPRK) denounced a joint drill by the United States, Japan, and South Korea yesterday, labeling such trilateral military maneuvers as main danger factors, which heighten the level of military tension on the Korean Peninsula and its vicinity.
According to Nam News Network, the United States, Japan, and South Korea conducted a provocative tripartite joint air drill on Friday. The exercise involved various kinds of combat bombers, including the strategic bomber B-52H, over the Korean Peninsula and its vicinity, as quoted in a statement by the chief of the Policy Office of the Ministry of National Defence.
The statement further explained that the military alliances between the United States and Japan, and between the United States and South Korea, have transformed into a nuclear-based triangular military alliance. This tripartite military cooperation, being advanced in all spheres, suggests that the prolonged instability and tension on the Korean Peninsula could quickly escalate to an unpredictable phase of military confrontation.
