Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index saw significant fluctuations today, with a number of major companies experiencing declines in their stock prices. Among the most notable was GS Retail, which fell by 670 points to close at 16,030. Other major decliners included Ottogi, which dropped 4,500 points to settle at 378,500, and LG Energy Solution, decreasing by 6,500 points to 351,500.
According to Yonhap News Agency, several other companies also saw their stock prices fall. Samsung Electronics Mechanical dropped 3,000 points to 123,100, KorZinc decreased by 8,000 to 829,000, and Hanmi Science declined by 300 to 28,950. HANALL BIOPHARMA also saw a decline, falling 1,250 points to close at 38,000, while Kogas dropped 600 points to 35,000.
Despite the overall downward trend, some companies experienced gains. YoulchonChem increased by 500 points to 30,300, and HYOSUNG HEAVY rose by 27,000 points to close at 450,000. HD KSOE and HD HYUNDAI MIPO also saw positive moves, increasing by 7,500 and 5,500 points, respectively. Additionally, KEPCO and Samsung Securities recorded minor gains, each rising by 250 points.
