South korea: South Korea's customs agency announced plans to expedite import clearance to ensure the timely supply of goods in anticipation of the upcoming Chuseok holiday. The Korea Customs Service (KCS) will implement special support teams to operate 24/7 from Monday through September 27.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the initiative aims to facilitate the swift release of imports into the market. The KCS will also disclose import prices for 89 agricultural, livestock, and fishery products to promote market transparency. Additionally, the agency plans to increase inspections for country-of-origin labeling violations, particularly concerning popular imported food items.

Chuseok, a significant holiday in South Korea akin to Thanksgiving, involves family gatherings and ancestral rites. This year's Chuseok will be observed from September 24-27. In a move to further support exporters, the KCS will reduce the processing time for tariff refunds from two days to the same day.
