‘Culinary Class Wars 2’ Set to Premiere on Netflix with Star-Studded Chef Lineup

Seoul: Netflix's popular Korean reality show "Culinary Class Wars" is making a grand return for its second season next month, the streaming service announced on Tuesday. The much-anticipated next installment of the hit cooking competition is slated to premiere on December 16.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the original production team, including producers Kim Hak-min and Kim Eun-ji, alongside writer Mo Eun-seol, has reunited for the upcoming season. The team has focused on addressing elements they felt were lacking in the first season, aiming to deliver a more complete and engaging show.

Teaser images released on Tuesday have stirred excitement, showcasing top culinary figures such as Michelin-starred chefs Lee Joon and Son Jong-won. Additionally, Ven. Seon-jae, renowned for her expertise in Buddhist temple cuisine, is also set to participate, promising an intense competition among these culinary giants.

The first season of "Culinary Class Wars" featured a thrilling concept, pitting elite chefs, known as the White Spoons, against lesser-known underdogs, the Black Spoons, in fierce culinary battles to determine the nation's top cook. This unique format captivated audiences, leading the show to top Netflix's non-English series chart for three consecutive weeks following its debut on September 17 last year. It drew millions of views worldwide, generating significant international interest in the impressive range of talented Korean chefs and their innovative dishes.
