Seoul:According to Yonhap News Agency, consumer sentiment in September showed improvement as the local stock market exhibited signs of stabilization, supported by sound economic data. The Bank of Korea (BOK) reported that the composite consumer sentiment index (CCSI) increased to 106.6 this month, marking a 2.1 point rise from August. This index reflects a predominance of optimism in the market, as a reading above 100 suggests more optimists than pessimists. The BOK noted that reduced volatility in the stock market has raised expectations for economic conditions to positively impact income levels. In September, the subindex evaluating current economic conditions stood at 83, which is a 4-point increase from the previous month. The index measuring people's outlook on future economic conditions also saw an increase, rising by 1 point to reach 90.
