Seoul: South Korea's 12 major cities are bracing for a chilly day as the weather forecast predicts freezing temperatures and varying weather conditions across the country. The mercury is expected to dip significantly, with Seoul experiencing a high of -2°C and a low of -12°C under cloudy skies and a 20% chance of rain.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Incheon will also see cloudy conditions with temperatures ranging from -3°C to -10°C, while Suwon is set to face similar weather with a high of -1°C and a low of -11°C. Meanwhile, Cheongju and Daejeon will enjoy sunny weather despite the cold, with Cheongju's temperatures reaching a high of -1°C and a low of -9°C, and Daejeon's temperatures peaking at 1°C and dropping to -10°C overnight.

Further south, Chuncheon will remain cloudy but dry, with no rain expected and temperatures between -1°C and -15°C. Gangneung, on the other hand, will enjoy sunny skies with temperatures from 2°C to -9°C.

In Jeonju and Gwangju, sunny weather is forecasted, with Jeonju experiencing temperatures between 2°C and -8°C, and Gwangju ranging from 2°C to -5°C. Jeju, known for its milder climate, will also see sun, with temperatures varying from 5°C to 2°C.

Finally, Daegu and Busan will both experience sunny conditions, with Daegu's temperatures ranging from 3°C to -7°C, and Busan seeing a high of 5°C and a low of -4°C. Despite the cold, a 20% chance of rain persists in most cities, suggesting residents should remain prepared for possible precipitation.
