Seoul: CJ Logistics Corp. on Friday reported its second-quarter net income of 58.2 billion won (US$42 million), marking a 5.1 percent decrease from the previous year. The company revealed these figures in a regulatory filing, highlighting a challenging period for the logistics firm.
According to Yonhap News Agency, CJ Logistics posted an operating profit of 115.2 billion won for the quarter, a decline from the 125.4 billion won recorded in the same period last year. Additionally, the company's revenue experienced a slight dip of 0.4 percent, totaling 3.04 trillion won.
Despite the downturn in net profits, CJ Logistics managed to surpass market expectations. Analysts had projected a lower net profit, with the average estimate standing at 49.7 billion won, based on a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm associated with Yonhap News Agency.
