Pyongyang: China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit North Korea this week, North Korea's state media reported Wednesday. The visit is scheduled for Thursday and Friday, as confirmed by the Korean Central News Agency.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the Chinese foreign minister's visit comes at the invitation of North Korea's foreign ministry. The announcement, however, did not provide further details regarding the agenda or specific discussions planned during the visit.

The visit is noteworthy as it follows the recent resumption of direct rail and flight services between China and North Korea. These services had been suspended since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
