Seoul:<Text>

Cellist-turned-conductor Chang Han-na on Friday began her three-year term as president and CEO of the Seoul Arts Center, a major state-run cultural institution. Chang officially assumed the role after receiving her appointment certificate from Culture Minister Chae Hwi-young. The culture ministry announced her appointment early this month.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Chang expressed her commitment to the institution's founding spirit and outlined her vision for its future. During a meeting with reporters after the ceremony, she shared her intent to leverage her 32 years of international performance and travel experience to fulfill this vision. Despite acknowledging the relatively short three-year term, Chang believes it is ample time to establish a solid foundation for the institution's growth.

Chang emphasized the importance of maintaining strong relationships with staff members and listening to their concerns to enhance the institution. Sh e first performed at the Seoul Arts Center at the age of nine, marking the beginning of her celebrated career. Her international debut came at age 11 when she won the Grand Prix at the 1994 Rostropovich International Cello Competition in Paris. Since then, she has developed a multifaceted career as a cellist, conductor, and artistic director.
