BTS’ RM Donates 100 Million Won to National Museum of Korea

Seoul:RM, the leader of the globally renowned K-pop group BTS, has donated 100 million won, equivalent to approximately US$73,909, to the National Museum of Korea. This contribution is aimed at aiding the museum in acquiring new items for its collection.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the donation was made on Tuesday through the Friends of National Museum of Korea, a private support group for the museum. The funds will be utilized to purchase or acquire artifacts necessary for the museum's collection.

In a statement, RM, whose real name is Kim Nam-joon, expressed his pleasure in supporting the museum as its global ambassador. He stated, "I will continue working with the museum to promote it and Korean culture."

The 32-year-old rapper has consistently shown a strong interest in Korean traditional culture and art. He previously donated 100 million won in both 2021 and 2022 to the Overseas Korean Cultural Heritage Foundation, which is affiliated with the Korea Heritage Service and focuses on preserving and restoring Korean cultural artifacts held overseas.

In June, RM was appointed as the first global ambassador for the National Museum of Korea, underlining his commitment to promoting Korean culture and heritage.
