Seoul: The body of a 25-year-old Chinese student was found in the southeastern city of Gyeongsan on Tuesday, police said, six days after she went missing.

According to Yonhap News Agency, a suspect in his 30s has been arrested and is currently under investigation on charges of allegedly murdering the Chinese student. The grim discovery was made at the suspect's home in Hayang County, Gyeongsan, located approximately 290 kilometers south of Seoul.

The Chinese student had recently moved to the nearby city of Daegu last Thursday night. Her family reported losing contact with her shortly thereafter, prompting concerns about her safety and eventual search efforts.

Authorities have stated that the student's body will undergo an autopsy as part of the ongoing investigation. Police are also delving into the possible motive behind the suspect's alleged actions, endeavoring to piece together the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
