Seoul: Girl group BLACKPINK will release its third EP, "Deadline," on Feb. 27, the group's label, YG Entertainment, announced Thursday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, YG unveiled a video on its official blog to announce the K-pop quartet's anticipated comeback. "Deadline" will be BLACKPINK's first album in three years and five months since "Born Pink" was released in September 2022. Although the group released the digital single "Jump" in July, they have been more active in showcasing their musical talents through solo projects during the hiatus.
YG Entertainment noted that the album's title, "Deadline," is in line with BLACKPINK's latest world tour, which began in July in Goyang, near Seoul. This comeback is intended to serve as the grand finale to the tour. The group had completed significant work on the album, including a music video, but the release was delayed from last year to enhance its quality further.
"We sincerely thank fans for their patience over the long wait," YG stated. "We plan to repay their support with highly refined music and ask for continued interest." BLACKPINK will conclude its world tour with performances at Tokyo Dome from Jan. 16 to 18 and at Hong Kong's Kai Tak Stadium from Jan. 24 to 26.
