Indio: South Korean idol group BIGBANG marked its 20th anniversary with a comeback performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on Sunday (U.S. time), returning to the stage as a full group for the first time in nine years.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the trio, composed of G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung, closed the festival's Outdoor Theatre stage in Indio, California, with a 50-minute set featuring some of its biggest hits, including "Bang Bang Bang," "Fantastic Baby," and "Loser."

"It took a long time for us to get here. BIGBANG is back!" G-Dragon told the crowd. "Our 20th anniversary has just begun, and bigger things are coming, so please wait for a little longer."

Daesung expressed anticipation for the event, stating that he had "waited so long for this moment," and described the group's first Coachella appearance as "an unforgettable night."

The performance drew loud cheers as the large screens on the stage displayed the group's iconic logo and members' names. Fans waved yellow crown-shaped light sticks, a symbol of the band's fan base. Since debuting in 2006, BIGBANG has been a leading act in the second generation of K-pop, releasing hits like "Lies," "Haru Haru," and "Last Farewell." Their last group performance was on a tour in 2017, and they have not released new material since the digital single "Still Life" in 2022.

On Sunday, the members also performed solo and unit stages, including Taeyang's "Ringa Linga," G-Dragon's "Power," and their joint track "Good Boy." They concluded the set with "Still Life," promising to continue activities as a group.

"This year marks our 20th anniversary," Taeyang said. "Sharing this moment means a lot to us, and we look forward to what's next for BIGBANG."

The group is scheduled to perform again at Coachella next Monday.
