Seoul: The state arms procurement agency announced the successful deployment of an upgraded tactical command system to the Army, aiming to enhance intelligence-sharing capabilities essential for modern warfare.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the deployment was confirmed as the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) completed an advancement project for the Army Tactical Command Information System (ATCIS). This initiative is designed to facilitate the real-time sharing of complex wartime information.

The recent system upgrade enables commanders to utilize artificial intelligence (AI)-analyzed data, improving battlefield decision-making. Additionally, it establishes a foundation for AI-based manned-unmanned teaming by enabling information sharing with unmanned equipment.

DAPA intends to leverage the technology and data processing expertise gained from this project to develop a joint command and control system that will integrate all military branches.
