Army Chief Reveals Resignation Offer Amid Martial Law Controversy.

Seoul: Army Chief Gen. Park An-su stated on Thursday that he had tendered his resignation to former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun following President Yoon Suk Yeol's sudden imposition of emergency martial law. According to Yonhap News Agency, Park was appointed to lead the martial law command after President Yoon declared the emergency measure late Tuesday. However, the martial law was lifted just hours later when the opposition-controlled National Assembly voted against it. During an emergency session of the parliamentary defense committee, Park disclosed that he had offered to resign the previous day, signaling the internal turmoil and controversy surrounding the brief imposition of martial law.
