Airplane Catches Fire at Busan Airport; No Injuries Reported

Busan: A passenger aircraft caught fire at an international airport in the southeastern city of Busan on Tuesday, forcing over 170 travelers and crew members to evacuate.

According to Yonhap News Agency, fire authorities reported that an Air Busan plane, which was bound for Hong Kong from Gimhae International Airport in Busan, caught fire at its tail before its takeoff around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. All 169 passengers and seven crew members aboard evacuated using an inflatable slide, and there were no injuries reported.

The fire, which began at the tail of the aircraft, appeared to have spread to the fuselage, prompting the swift evacuation of all on board.
