Air Force Chief Visits Egypt and UAE to Enhance Arms Cooperation

Cairo: Air Force chief Gen. Son Sug-rag is set to visit Egypt and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) this week to explore opportunities for strengthening collaboration in the defense and arms industries, as well as to participate in military events, the Air Force announced on Wednesday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, during the visit from November 12-20, Gen. Son will hold discussions with Maj. Gen. Amr Abd Elrahman Sakr, the chief of the Egyptian Air Force, and Rashed Mohammed A. Al Shamsi, the deputy commander of the UAE Air Force and Air Defence. These meetings aim to enhance strategic partnerships in military and defense sectors.

Gen. Son's itinerary includes attending the Dubai Airshow 2025, which is scheduled for next week. He will also visit the Egyptian Air Force's 292 Tactical Fighter Wing, providing an opportunity to observe and discuss tactical advancements and bilateral cooperation.

In addition to these engagements, Gen. Son will participate in an international air force chiefs conference in Dubai, planned for Sunday. A reception focused on expanding arms cooperation between South Korea and the UAE is also on the agenda, underscoring the commitment to deepening defense ties between the nations.
