Actor Yim Si-wan Selected as Emcee for BIFF Closing Ceremony

Busan: Actor-singer Yim Si-wan has been chosen to host the closing ceremony of this year's Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), as announced by the festival's organizers. The ceremony will highlight the presentation of the Busan awards, recognizing the outstanding works that participated in BIFF's primary competition section introduced last year.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Yim Si-wan began his career as a member of the K-pop boy group Ze:a before transitioning into acting. He first appeared in the historical romance TV drama "The Moon Embracing the Sun" in 2012 and gained further recognition with his role in the workplace drama "Misaeng" in 2014. More recently, he has been part of the globally popular Netflix series "Squid Game," appearing in its second and third seasons.

In addition to Yim's role at the closing ceremony, actor Kim Min-ha, known for her role in the historical saga "Pachinko," will host the festival's opening ceremony. The 31st edition of the Busan International Film Festival is scheduled to run from October 6 to 15 in the southeastern city of Busan.
