Actor-Singer Lee Jun-young to Begin Military Service Next Month

Seoul: Actor-singer Lee Jun-young, who appeared in the hit Netflix series "When Life Gives You Tangerines," will begin his mandatory military service in July, his agency announced Monday. Lee is set to enlist in the Army on July 21, and there will be no special events to mark his transition, according to his agency, Billions.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee shared a handwritten letter on his social media account expressing his thoughts since the date was set. He assured fans he would stay healthy and return as himself. Lee Jun-young first gained popularity as a member of the K-pop boy band U-KISS in 2014, before transitioning to acting in 2017. He has since appeared in series such as the military action drama "D.P." and the crime thriller "Weak Hero Class 2."

Lee released his first solo album, "Last Dance," last year. He is currently appearing in the JTBC comedy series "Reborn Rookie."
