Daejeon: A total of 98 online government services have been restored following an outage caused by last week's fire at the state data management agency, the government announced on Wednesday. As of 8 a.m., the restoration rate reached 15.1 percent, with 98 out of 647 affected services back online after the fire at the National Information Resources Service (NIRS) in Daejeon, approximately 140 kilometers south of Seoul.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the restored services include 21 out of 36 "Grade 1" services, which are deemed essential due to their impact and the number of users. Meanwhile, a situation room has been established at the NIRS, led by Vice Interior Minister Kim Min-jae, to monitor the progress of restoration efforts.

A police investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire, which originated from a lithium-ion battery explosion in a server room on the fifth floor of the NIRS. The fire was completely extinguished by Saturday.
