Seoul: Eight South Koreans were unaccounted for and 10 others were stranded following a massive flood in Nepal, Seoul's foreign ministry said Wednesday. The eight missing South Koreans were employees of Korea South-East Power Co. and plant builder Doosan Enerbility Co., who were working on the construction of a hydropower plant in Nepal's Rasuwa district, the ministry said.

According to Yonhap News Agency, another 10 South Koreans affiliated with Doosan Enerbility were stranded in the area and awaiting rescue. The Nepalese government has responded by sending a helicopter to evacuate them, as confirmed by the ministry.

The South Korean Embassy in Nepal took swift action by notifying the Nepalese government after learning about the missing individuals. They have called for an immediate and active search and rescue operation to find the missing South Koreans.
