3 Crew Members Injured in Navy Warship Fire in Jinhae

Jinhae: Three crew members sustained injuries when a Navy warship caught fire while entering a naval port in Jinhae, as reported by the Navy.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the fire broke out in an auxiliary engine system on the ROKS Hyang Ro Bong as the landing ship was making its way into the port in Jinhae, approximately 310 kilometers southeast of Seoul, at about 3:46 p.m. on Thursday.

The vessel was carrying around 180 crew members onboard. Among the injured, one crew member who suffered burns has been transported to a hospital. However, the conditions of all three injured personnel are not life-threatening.

The Navy has deployed all available resources to combat the fire. The precise cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
