26 People Nabbed Over Sexual Exploitation Scam Crimes in Cambodia

Phnom penh: A joint South Korean investigation team has apprehended 26 individuals involved in scam crimes related to sexual exploitation in Cambodia, in collaboration with local authorities, Cheong Wa Dae announced on Monday. The operation was part of a concerted effort to crack down on such criminal activities.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the pan-government task force, along with Cambodian police, conducted raids on January 5, targeting the offices and residences of the scam ring members in Phnom Penh. Kang Yu-jung, the presidential spokesperson, informed reporters that the suspects were taken into custody during these coordinated raids.

The South Korean government has pledged to take immediate action to halt the dissemination of sexually exploitative videos and plans to extradite the suspects to South Korea for prosecution. Kang emphasized the commitment to ensuring that those responsible are held accountable for their actions.
