Seoul: President Yoon Suk Yeol's approval rating has dropped to 25 percent, following a three-week period of rising ratings, according to a recent survey conducted last week. The survey, conducted by Realmeter and commissioned by a local news outlet, reflects a 0.7 percentage point decline in positive assessments of Yoon's performance from the previous week. Concurrently, negative assessments have increased by 0.7 percentage point, reaching 71 percent. According to Yonhap News Agency, the survey included responses from 2,509 adults over the course of five days, from Monday to Friday, and reported a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points at a 95 percent confidence rate. The president's approval had previously risen to 25.7 percent in the third week of November, representing a six-week high, largely due to increased backing from conservative regions, before experiencing a downturn to 25 percent last week. In addition to the presidential approval ratings, a separate survey by the same polling org anization surveyed 1,002 individuals aged 18 and over on Thursday and Friday, revealing a rise in support for the two major rival political parties. The ruling People Power Party saw a 2 percentage point increase in support, reaching 32.3 percent. Meanwhile, the main opposition Democratic Party experienced a smaller rise of 0.3 percentage point, bringing their support to 45.2 percent.
