Wiz Sign Starting Pitcher Enmanuel De Jesus.

Seoul: The KT Wiz announced on Sunday that they have signed pitcher Enmanuel De Jesus, following a successful season for the left-hander with a rival club in the South Korean league. De Jesus has agreed to a one-year contract valued at $1 million, which includes a salary of $800,000 and a signing bonus of $200,000. According to Yonhap News Agency, De Jesus was a starter for the Kiwoom Heroes during his inaugural Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) season in 2024. The Venezuelan pitcher achieved a 13-11 record with a 3.68 ERA across 30 starts and amassed 178 strikeouts in 171 1/3 innings. He ranked second overall in strikeouts, third in wins, fifth in innings pitched, and seventh in ERA. De Jesus also recorded 20 quality starts, placing him second in that category. Despite his impressive performance, the Heroes elected not to retain De Jesus for the 2025 season. They also released another foreign-born pitcher, Ariel Jurado, opting to proceed with one foreign pitcher, Kenny Rosenberg, for the upcoming season wh ile providing opportunities for local pitchers. The Heroes' decision not to re-sign De Jesus released their rights to him, allowing him to become a free agent eligible to sign with any KBO team. The Wiz expressed that De Jesus, 27, is a proven ace anticipated to form a strong partnership at the forefront of their rotation alongside William Cuevas, whom they have re-signed for a seventh season. De Jesus is set to replace left-hander Wes Benjamin in the Wiz's rotation.
