White House: Maximum pressure policy on N. Korea hasn’t changed
WASHINGTON, The United States will keep sanctions on North Korea until the country dismantles its nuclear weapons program, the White House said Monday ahead of a high-stakes summit between the countries' leaders.
"Our policy hasn't changed and we wouldn't take the pressure off until we see denuclearization," White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said at a regular news briefing.
She said the June 12 summit in Singapore will begin at 9 a.m. local time.
