West insincere regarding fighting terrorism, says Erdogan
The West makes insincere statements about that it fights terrorism, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.
The president said it is not important for Turkey that some western countries have listed the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) as a terrorist organization, but the way they fight it, TRT Haber TV channel reported March 16.
There are some forces which want to weaken Turkey, but they won't succeed, Erdogan added.
The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has continued for over 25 years and has claimed more than 40,000 lives.
The UN and the European Union listed the PKK as a terrorist organization.
PKK's attacks on military units and police stations have become more frequent in the south-eastern Turkey in recent months.
More than 200 soldiers were killed in the clashes between the PKK and Turkey in 2015.
