Seoul: The combined value of listed shares held by the National Pension Service surged by 35 percent, driven by robust gains from Samsung Electronics Co. and SK hynix Inc., data revealed Sunday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the combined value of listed shares held by the pension fund reached 266.1 trillion won (US$183 billion) as of Friday, up from 196.4 trillion won as of September 30.

During this period, shares of Samsung Electronics increased by 63.9 percent, and those of SK hynix more than doubled, the data showed.
