The US Treasury Department decided on Wednesday to impose sanctions on five North Koreans accused of procuring goods for their country’s “weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile-related programs.” The sanctions come in response to North Korean missile tests since September and are directed against five persons who worked in Russia or China for North Korea’s Academy of National Defense Science or its sub-organizations.
