Unification minister to host dinner with N.K. high-level delegation
SEOUL, Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon is set to host a dinner for North Korea's high-level delegation on Saturday in the sub-host city of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics, Seoul officials said.
Cho plans to greet the delegation, led by ceremonial head of state Kim Yong-nam, at a hotel in Gangneung, some 237 kilometers east of Seoul, at 6:30 p.m. they added.
The delegation, including North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's sister Kim Yo-jong, arrived in South Korea Friday for a three-day visit to attend the opening ceremony of the Winter Games.
Earlier in the day, Kim Yo-jong delivered her brother's letter to President Moon Jae-in, which includes an invitation of the South's leader to Pyongyang at an early date.
The two Koreas have engaged in a flurry of sports diplomacy after North Korean leader Kim Jong-un extended a rare olive branch to Seoul in his New Year's message.
