U.S. Consults with Allies Over North Korea’s Latest Missile Launches, Reaffirms Defense Commitment

Washington: A U.S. military command announced Saturday that it is in close consultation with allies and partners regarding North Korea's latest ballistic missile launches. The United States has also reaffirmed its defense commitment to regional allies amidst these developments. According to Yonhap News Agency, North Korea launched approximately 10 ballistic missiles toward the East Sea on Saturday, coinciding with a major military exercise conducted by South Korea and the United States. North Korea has criticized these exercises, labeling them as rehearsals for an invasion against the regime. The U.S. Indo-Pacific Command stated in a press release that they are aware of the missile launches and are actively consulting with allies and partners. The command assessed that the event does not pose an immediate threat to U.S. personnel, territory, or allies in the region. The United States reiterated its commitment to the defense of its homeland and its allies in the area.
