Seoul: Two South Korean nationals have been detained in Iran over alleged smuggling, diplomatic sources revealed. The individuals were taken into custody along with an Iranian national around November 20 in the southwestern region of Iran on charges related to smuggling.

According to Yonhap News Agency, one of the South Koreans is an employee of a South Korean public institution, while the other is a Korean resident living in Iran. All three individuals are facing identical charges, though further details about the case have not been confirmed.

South Korean diplomatic authorities have been actively communicating with the local embassy and Iranian officials since the incident came to light. They are providing the necessary consular assistance to those involved. A Seoul government official stated, "It is difficult to disclose details as the case is still under investigation by local authorities."
