Transport Department orders crackdown on taxi drivers who watch pornographic movies in their cars

In the case of a taxi driver who was watching a pornographic movie in the car and had his photo taken and shared on social media, the Department of Land Transport has recently ordered punishment. Social media has published a complaint about the behavior of a taxi driver who turned on a pornographic film in the middle of the road while the car was stopped at a red light. The account X or the famous Twitter account RedSkull posted, "TAXI warning. If you have a daughter and have to get in this TAXI, how will you feel?" The post was on July 29, 2024. The Department of Land Transport recently issued a clarification document stating that it had considered and believed that the driver's behavior may be an offense under the Motor Vehicle Act of 1979 for failing to comply with the Ministerial Regulations on Safety in Passenger Transport 2012, as follows: The charge of committing an act that is shameful in public or indecent in any other way, whether done by oneself or done with any media or materials that give the impression of a similar meaning, according to Section 5 (15/1) in conjunction with Section 58/1, which the law stipulates a penalty of a fine not exceeding 5,000 baht. The driver's license can be suspended in accordance with Section 53/1 for a period not exceeding 6 months at a time. Currently, the perpetrators are being tracked down to be punished according to the law.
